I’m about to #MeetSouthAfrica
I’ve just returned from six intense weeks in South America, locked myself in the office the past four days and guess what?
I’m thrilled that from tomorrow I’ll be spending some time exploring within our beloved land, South Africa – in Jozi, PE, Mossel Bay and Durban (place of my birth) with a group of 14 awesome travel bloggers, international and local. We’ll be doing just that and letting you in on the fun over the next 10 days, as guests of the South African Tourism board.
The three groups of bloggers have three itineraries (which happily coincide at the start) and together we’ll be unpacking a host of adventures from hot air ballooning (I’ve never been. Yet. Fear of heights, see. So someone better smuggle me a brandy and a hug pre-trip), to fine dining, archeological explorations and such. There’ll be a fair amount of tweeting (@Foodandthefab) and blasting from social media too. But, no need to get those hardhats on – think you can be sure, that excitement aside, you’ll always hear the truth about a place. So, if there are a lot of happy tweets – start planning that #shotleft!
This is what SA Tourism has to say:
The #MeetSouthAfrica bloggers’ trip 2014 will see 14 bloggers cross South Africa on three different routes over a period of 10 days, spotting all of the country’s best sites, testing some of our finest restaurants and staying in some pretty spectacular accommodation along the way. They all arrive on 2 May and travel their paths towards the tourism INDABA happening in Durban from 10 to 12 May 2014
